Untold Truth about diet soda

We all have the belief that drinking diet soda controls the level of sugar we take which also helps in weight reduction right? But here is what you don’t know about diet soda. Researchers have found out that there is nothing healthy about drinking diet sodas. Sodas are produced with aspartame, saccharin, and sucralose.  But most of the diet sodas contain aspartame which when consumed breaks down in our body system to a wood alcohol poison(methanol)which converts to formaldehyde with heat above 86 degrees f,and the temperature in the human body is 98.6 degree f. These chemicals have the ability to cause severe damage to DNA. Artificial sweeteners have more intense flavor than real sugar and have the same effect on your body as sugar.

Problems arising from diet soda consumption

1)      Heart problems: Consumption of a regular soda a day could lead to your risk of having a stroke or heart attack
2)      Headache: Aspartame as an artificial sweetener triggers headaches.
3)      No nutritional value: Sodas have no nutritional value.
4)      Increases the rate of diabetes.
5)      Weight gain: Contrary to what is hyped that sodas helps in weight reduction, diet sodas actually helps you gain weight. Diet soda is calorie-free, but it won't necessarily help you lose weight. The artificial sweetners are used to confuse your body system when in fact you are gaining weight and not losing any. These sweeteners trigger insulin, which sends your body into fat storage mode which then leads to gaining of weight.
6)      The acid in diet sodas gradually dissolves the teeth leading to worse dental health.

Health Consequences of anger

Anger is a very powerful emotion if not handled properly; it can destroy families, friendships, marriages, and in other cases destroy properties. Uncontrolled anger can lead to arguments, physical fights, physical abuse, assault and self-harm. But well managed anger can help you make a positive change. When angry, our heart rates, blood pressure and respiration increases, the body temperature rises and the skin perspires.
Some people who fly into rages have low self-esteem, and use their anger as a way to manipulate others and feel powerful. Anger can cause people to feel put off, upset, intimidated, afraid, or a handful of other unpleasant emotions.
Causes of anger: Stress is the major cause of anger. People who are stressed are more likely to experience anger. People are advised to exercise regularly to reduce stress.

Effects of anger
The constant flood of stress chemicals and associated metabolic changes that go with recurrent unmanaged anger can eventually cause harm to many different systems of the body which includes:
1)      Increased anxiety. Mood swings
2)      High blood pressure. Emotions such as anger and hostility quickly activate the "fight or flight response," in which stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, speed up your heart rate and breathing and give you a burst of energy. Blood pressure also rises as your blood vessels constrict.
3)      Headache, migraines and chest pains
4)      Anger, yelling and violence also sets an unhealthy precedent in a relationship, ignoring the need for open, trusting communication.
5)      Digestion problems, such as abdominal pain
6)      Insomnia. Anger makes it difficult for you to fall asleep.
7)      Depression
8)      Anger can cause people to feel put off and upset and this would make them stay away from you
9)      Frequent high levels of anger have now been linked to heart disease. Anger and hostility are significantly associated with more heart problems in initially healthy people, as well as a worse outcome for patients already diagnosed with heart disease.

If you feel out of control, walk away from the situation temporarily, until you cool down. . However, bottled anger often turns into depression and anxiety so try to control and express your anger in a mild way. Be open and honest in your communication with people.

Living Through a Breakup.

There are a lot of things newly single people need to do and don’t do after a breakup, which would prevent future mistakes .First you need to take a break. The loss of a relationship can bring on intense heartache and stress, but you need to get real with yourself.

1)      Cry: Don’t live in an illusion that all is well and that you are strong, go to a quiet place and cry your eyes out. You would feel much better after that. It is better to express yourself honestly than pretend you are not affected. Allowing yourself time to grieve is an important part of healing after a breakup. Accepting responsibility for your mistakes or shortcomings is healthy. On the other hand, you must also accept that you are a good person, and that you did your best and you're not the only one who made mistakes.

2)      Eat: Don’t starve yourself to death. Try to eat, and if you can’t cook ask a good friend to come help you out for a while until you are strong enough. But don’t eat so much out of depression, If you have been down on yourself or feeling worthless, turn that around and start loving yourself again. Start showing your body some love too. The best revenge against your ex is looking fabulous.

3)      Keep away from your ex for a while: This would allow you time to heal and get strong enough to be able to talk normally with them without any strings attached.

4)      Be mature about your breakup: Don’t talk about it on twitter or facebook. Take life one day at a time, and gradually you would get back your smile.

5)      Know that everything happens for a reason. There is a plan for you and this was placed on your path for a reason.

At the end get yourself back, do some shopping and exercising, look fit and radiant. Move on with your life. It’s their loss.

Why people cheat in Relationships

Wow cheating? This is one act that always baffles me , and i always ask why did they cheat? But the answers are always vague. I honestly don't get why people cheat in relationships, if you can no longer cope just let your partner know and walk away. I did a survey among some of my friends on why people cheat in relationships and these were their answers.

1) Peer pressure: Peer pressure is the act of been influenced to do an act you would not normally do in other to please their friends. Most guys and ladies that cheat are greatly influenced by the approval of their friends, this are people without self esteem and feel they are nothing without their friends. So they rather do it than loose the friendship.
2) Insecurity: Many people are insecure with themselves, and having a side fling makes them feel wanted, and as if they still have what it takes to date. Cheating boosts their ego, which is insecure, and cheating helps them feel better about themselves.
3) Depression: Most people are very unhappy with their lives, and tend to find comfort in the arms of another to feel better about themselves. Depression can lead a person to do many things they normally wouldn’t do, with cheating being one. Sometimes it takes more than a relationship to help a person through an unhappy time in their life. If this is the case, you need to decide if the relationship is repairable.
4) Forced or arranged marriages: People who have had an arranged marriage tend to cheat more. This is because there were forced either by tradition or family to marry someone they don't love.
5) Distance: People can cheat as a result of long distance relationship. Distance influences cheating a lot. It takes a very disciplined person in a long distance relationship to not cheat.

Cheating is just a coward way out. If you are not happy in your relationship then have an adult conversation with your partner and let them know how you are feeling. Communication is the key to making anything work.

Benefits of Giving

''Give, it will come back to you, good measures press down, shaking together and running over’’ a song from a gospel artist emphasizing the benefits of giving. When people hear about giving, the first thing that comes to their mind is money. But, giving is much more than money. Our giving is an investment in our financial future. There are a lot of ways we can give.

1)      Money: Definitely money is one of the ways through which we can give. Give of your wealth to the poor, charity, sick people etc.

2)      Knowledge: You can also give knowledge. Share your knowledge or skills and inspire others to do great things.

3)      Time: Time is one thing people usually don’t give. But, the act of giving our time is most cherished. Give your time to friends and people who make your life meaningful, put a smile on someone’s face. You can also help out; volunteer yourself physically to help a cause.

4)      Advise: Not everyone has wisdom to embark on life’s journey, share your wisdom, it would make a difference in someone’s life.

Benefits of giving
Every act of kindness is never a waste. It is like sowing a seed for the future, you might not be the one to reap it, but your children and loved ones would. There are various benefits from giving.

1)      Giving makes us feel good: Research found that when people give to charities, it activates regions of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection, and trust, creating a “warm glow” effect. When you give, the smile and appreciation you get from the recipient makes you feel very good.

2)      Giving makes you have peace of mind.

3)      Giving is good for health: Giving to others has been shown to increase health benefits in people with chronic illness by helping to reduce stress.

4)      Giving strengthens our ties to others. When we give to others, we don’t only make them feel closer to us; we also feel closer to them.

5)      Giving is contagious: When we give, we don’t only help the immediate recipient of our gift. We also spur a ripple effect of generosity through our community. Each person in a network can influence dozens or even hundreds of people, some of whom he or she does not know and has not met.

6)      By giving we expose ourselves to allow the law of sowing and reaping to work in our benefit. Through giving we sow seeds that will eventually come back to us in a wave of many forms of blessings.

Remember It is more blessed to give than to receive.Dont always think that giving is about money. When next you have an opportunity to give, never hesitate, because you are sowing seeds of kindness for the future.
