Benefits of Giving

''Give, it will come back to you, good measures press down, shaking together and running over’’ a song from a gospel artist emphasizing the benefits of giving. When people hear about giving, the first thing that comes to their mind is money. But, giving is much more than money. Our giving is an investment in our financial future. There are a lot of ways we can give.

1)      Money: Definitely money is one of the ways through which we can give. Give of your wealth to the poor, charity, sick people etc.

2)      Knowledge: You can also give knowledge. Share your knowledge or skills and inspire others to do great things.

3)      Time: Time is one thing people usually don’t give. But, the act of giving our time is most cherished. Give your time to friends and people who make your life meaningful, put a smile on someone’s face. You can also help out; volunteer yourself physically to help a cause.

4)      Advise: Not everyone has wisdom to embark on life’s journey, share your wisdom, it would make a difference in someone’s life.

Benefits of giving
Every act of kindness is never a waste. It is like sowing a seed for the future, you might not be the one to reap it, but your children and loved ones would. There are various benefits from giving.

1)      Giving makes us feel good: Research found that when people give to charities, it activates regions of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection, and trust, creating a “warm glow” effect. When you give, the smile and appreciation you get from the recipient makes you feel very good.

2)      Giving makes you have peace of mind.

3)      Giving is good for health: Giving to others has been shown to increase health benefits in people with chronic illness by helping to reduce stress.

4)      Giving strengthens our ties to others. When we give to others, we don’t only make them feel closer to us; we also feel closer to them.

5)      Giving is contagious: When we give, we don’t only help the immediate recipient of our gift. We also spur a ripple effect of generosity through our community. Each person in a network can influence dozens or even hundreds of people, some of whom he or she does not know and has not met.

6)      By giving we expose ourselves to allow the law of sowing and reaping to work in our benefit. Through giving we sow seeds that will eventually come back to us in a wave of many forms of blessings.

Remember It is more blessed to give than to receive.Dont always think that giving is about money. When next you have an opportunity to give, never hesitate, because you are sowing seeds of kindness for the future.
